The Lodge at Cypress Falls – A Wimberley Tradition Since 1949

If the old rock walls at this hotel could talk they would tell stories of family vacation adventures from nearly a century of guests who have enjoyed their stay here, often so much they make it part of their family tradition – the yearly pilgrimage to Wimberley.

Set beside the spring fed waters of Cypress Creek, The Lodge, built in 1949, is one of the coolest “hot spots” around.  Guests have access to the shady back yard, covered with Cypress and Oak trees, the creek side grassy beach area with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy an afternoon in the sun or an evening beside the fire pit, and of course, the cool, crystal-clear water for tubing, kayaking, swimming or even catching a fish or two.

Although this spot is perfect for a family-friendly weekend, it is a great location for a couples or girl’s weekend as well.  Near downtown and only minutes away from Market Days and popular restaurants.  Enjoy a romantic stroll along the creek…

Crystal Clear Waters of Cypress Creek at The Lodge at Cypress Falls

With rock walls, pared-down rooms, vintage decor and old photos of former guests, the retro, family-camp-throwback vibe is both charming and comforting.  Spend your days being lazy and perfectly at ease as your kids play hide-n-seek in the shady back yard or jump into the creek while you lounge in the sun.

Chef Jay Events The Back Porch in Wimberley on Cypress Creek

Open Now - The Back Porch

Wimberley’s newest restaurant opening on the same property as the Lodge at Cypress Falls.

Chef Jay Bachman serves up some of the best burgers, brisket, pulled pork and other delicacies each afternoon overlooking Cypress Creek and the historic Eagle Rock.  Bring your own beer and sit outside or under a covered porch, then spend the rest of the day in the creek!

I was shocked at how low the prices were. The employees were super nice, we came in around midnight and the young man working the front desk held the door open for us. They have free breakfast, the rooms are super clean and unique. My favorite part was definitely all the all the scenery around the lodge, so so beautiful. Definitely will be returning.  (Yelp Review)

Go Pie Crazy at the Wimberley Pie Social – April 8

One of my favorite things to do in Wimberley and Central Texas is the Wimberley Pie Social. The Pie Social is like taking a trip back in time to an old fashioned church social’s dessert table – complete with ladies in their pioneer and old west style aprons serving up the prize winning slices.

Mt. Baldy - Prayer Mountain

Mt. Baldy, or Prayer Mountain, is one of the most enchanting spots in Wimberley.  The 219 stone steps up the side of this huge hill are perfect for exercise – but once you make it to the top you will see a breathtaking view of the Wimberley Valley.  A great spot for a proposal…
